Canyon To Coast Waimea Downhill Bicycle Experience

100% downhill, 100% fun!

This is an exhilarating bike ride from the rim of the famed Waimea Canyon (el. 3500’) down 13 miles of smooth winding blacktop all of the way to the shore of the blue Pacific. 

Enjoy the beautiful early morning light over Waimea Canyon – it’s spectacular!  You won’t be snoozin’ – you’ll be cruisin’.  We’ll serve steaming Kauai Coffee and fresh blueberry muffins as we ride up in our van. 

For the afternoon tour’s riders, see the sun dip low over Ni’ihau, the Forbidden Island.  We serve cold soft drinks, spring water and Kauai Cookies.  Our comfortable helmets and operating procedures make for a ride that’s safe and controlled, yet still invigorating. 

We’ll be riding through one of the most beautiful and interesting places on the planet, so of course, we’ll stop along the way for photos and narrative on history, culture, folklore, and legends.  We’ll get hands-on and identify native plants, trees, and birds.  As well as having an enjoyable ride in a beautiful place, you’ll learn about what makes Kauai special!

Transportation

• A Rental Car or taxi is required to get to the Bicycle Company's Poipu check-in location just 6-minutes from the Grand Hyatt Kauai.

Children

• Children must be at least 12-years old and 5' tall.  All child riders must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.

What to Wear

• Windbreaker or light jacket, eyeglasses or sunglasses, and closed-toed shoes (mandatory)

The Bikes

• The bikes are great downhill cruisers with wide, comfy saddles, hi-rise handlebars, and smooth, powerful disc brakes.

Van Riders

• Guests that may not want to ride or can not ride, may accompany their party by being a van rider. The escort van rides behind the bicycle riders, blocking traffic, as they proceed down the hill.  Minor van riders must be accompanied by an adult.

Restrictions

• All participants must possess basic bicycle riding skills.
• For safety reasons, riders must be a minimum of 12 years old.  Be 5 feet tall or taller and weigh less than 260 lbs. 
• All participants must be in suitable physical condition for this activity. If there are any questions, I (we) will consult a physician.
• Not recommended for women who are pregnant.

Cancelation Policy

• This experience maintains a 24-hour cancellation policy.  Tours canceled outside of 24-hours of their service date will be refunded in full less a 10% cancellation service fee. No refunds will be provided for tours canceled inside of 24-hours of service date.  Groups of 6 or more require 72-hour notice of cancellation.
